Cut Your Workweek in 1/2 with "Delete, Automate, Delegate"

Sep 08, 2024

This is just a wild-ass educated guess (as my grandma used to say) 🤣 but I bet right now you’re wearing the 1,000 hats of motherhood and the 1,000 hats of entrepreneurship… and are a bit overwhelmed. 🎩🎩🎩🎩

Us “mom-preneurs” are a special kind of crazy. We’re over here raising actual babies PLUS our “business baby”. 🤣

The only way we’re going to make it with our sanity intact is to learn how to: DELETE, AUTOMATE AND DELEGATE. And gawd knows you need to do all 3 in spades ♠️ if you’re a parent AND a business owner.

If you don’t…. then either you, your relationships, business or kids will suffer. Or all of ‘em.

Ask me how I know. 😔 Been there, done that.

So, to fix all that, here’s Tim Ferris' framework from “The 4-Hour Workweek”. Get this book ASAP, please and por favor. It’s the bee’s knees! I put these principles into practice and immediately saw radical results. And felt an immense sense of… ease. Lightness!

HOW TO D.A.D. FOR MORE FREE TIME + SANITY

STEP #1 - DELETE

The best way to save time is to DO LESS, so first you need to evaluate if your to-do list and business has items you really shouldn't be doing on it. Then delete them. Boom! You just freed up a bunch of time! REMEMBER: IT’S EITHER A HELL YES OR A HELL NO. Quit wasting your time on the “maybes” and the “no’s” and just focus on the stuff that sets your soul on fire. What do you need to say "no" to, to make room for your big, sexy "YESSES"?

Ask yourself: Does it really need all these moving parts? Is all of this REALLY essential? Am I overcomplicating this? Is there a simpler way to achieve the same results? Do I need to do this NOW?

“Delete” is an exercise in business minimalism and simplicity. It's step #1 for a reason, b/c a lot of the stuff you're stressed over, doesn't actually need to be done at all. Ever. Be like Elsa and let it go, let it goooo

“There is surely nothing quite so useless as doing with great efficiency what should not be done at all.” - Peter Drucker

STEP #2 - AUTOMATE

ok so you deleted all the non essential BS. WHEW! I bet you feel a lot better! It's kind of that same feeling like after you de-clutter your house!

Next up: automate. There are a lot of tasks and actions we do often that can be totally automated - whether it's scheduling calls, social media posting, requesting testimonials and even ordering groceries and other items. If you know something truly can't be deleted, try and automate it! This is where tech systems come in. You’re wasting oodles of time (and therefore money!) doing mundane admin tasks that can easily be automated. Automate that new client welcome kit! Automate that invoice! Automate those emails! It's 2024 now…. make the robots and AI do that boring shit so you can stay in your zone of genius.

STEP #3 - DELEGATE

If something can't be deleted or automated, try and get it off your plate ASAP by delegating it to someone else, who can do it quicker and/or better than you can. Quit trying to play SuperWoman (it’s costing you your mental health) and make someone else do the things you don’t want to do, or don’t like doing. Yeah, this is your official permission slip to get some outside help. You so totally deserve it!

Like Peter Drucker says: “Do what you do best and outsource the rest.”

Seriously, I know you’re juggling a million things—whether it’s snack time for the kiddos or crafting the next big move in your business empire. But remember, you don’t have to do it all on your own! By learning to delete, automate, and delegate, you’re going to unlock a WHOLLLEEE new level of freedom, peace, and joy in both motherhood and entrepreneurship. 🌟✨

Give yourself permission to step back, breathe, and focus on what really lights you up. Say goodbye to the overwhelm and hello to more you time. Take action… start trimming that to-do list and creating the space for the things that truly set your soul on fire! 🔥
